Meow meow! Stan Lee the senior ranking staff cat here. If you need some cheap books for the winter, the humans at Carpe Librum are offering a bunch of used books at 99 cents plus free shipping. Here are some I suggest.
I couldn’t keep my paws off Bleaker House, by Nell Stephens. It’s a bookish true book about a writer who travels to the bottom of the world to write a novel and comes home with a memoir. Also, there's penguins and bookishness.
The Island House by Posie Graeme Evans was purry good. It’s about an Australian grad student studying archaelogy who goes to a Scottish island, discovers why her father died there, and has visions of dead people. Also, the human liked it a lot, when I let her read it. She was partial to the father's girlfriend.
The human and I both liked Dear America by Jose Antonio Vargas. She liked how it was a true story about how the author was brought to America illegally as a kid. She says it's an interesting perspective, since there's talk of a border wall to prevent illegal immigration and the wall wouldn't affect people like the man who wrote Dear America, since he came to the country on an airplane.
