Since I’m a Potterhead after all this time, I thought a column on books similar to books that remind me of my favourite series would be fun. Here are my first three books. Click the links to purchase.
Steel Victory, by J.L. Gribble, reminds me of a slightly more grown up Harry Potter. There’s magic, vampires, and mages. There’s even an invasion, slightly reminiscent of when Voldemort invaded Hogwarts in The Deathly Hallows.
A Curse of Ash and Iron, by Christine Norris, while set about 100 years before the Harry Potter books, is still a bit similar to the Harry Potter books. There’s a motherless girl under a spell who is forced to live as a servant in her own home and a curse that could mean she’ll be bound forever.
A Taste of Honey and Death, by Sharon Bayliss, is young adult fantasy featuring an orphan named Samantha. When she meets a witch at the children’s home, her life is filled with happiness again, but it doesn’t last.
