I read Beyond the Baobab by Judith Krummeck about three years ago, and it was love at first read. It's the true story of how a local broadcaster immigrated to the US from South Africa. New, $2.99 through November 30.
The Second Mango by Shira Glassman is one of the best books I've read in the last couple years. It's ya/new adult fantasy about Queen Shulamit, a newly fatherless and grief-stricken princess forced to assume the throne after her father dies. To make matters worse, her girlfriend, disappears and Shulamit suffers from a mysterious digestive disorder. New, $12.
Steel Victory, by J.L. Gribble, is one of my new favourites. It's a combination urban fantasy and alternate history about a former mercenary named Victory who became a city councilwoman for a an independent city-state that acts as a buffer between the British and Roman colonies on the New Continent. New, $6.95
