Malinche's Conquest, by Anna Lanyon, is a new favourite of mine. I'd never heard of Malinche until I clicked on Native American on a distributor's website and this was one of the books they had in stock. Apparently, though, Anna Lanyon has, as she went looking for Malinche's story. Malinche was a Native American living in Mexico and South America when the Spanish invaded. She helped them conquer the local population and has been called a traitor by modern Latinos. Apparently, they even coined an insult from her name- Malinchista, which I think means traitor.
